My fish (regular goldies) appear to be mating during this short heatwave we've had, I was just wondering if there was any chance that if my female did lay eggs that got fertillised, would they survive on their own? Because I don't think I would be able to take the eggs out and buy a new heated filtered tank and put thrm on special diets ect? It's a relatively small pond (10 gal) and does have plants/ roots for shelter. Any help greatly appreiciated.

Chances are not good if it is a 10 gal. <Did you mean 100? 10 is really tiny for a pond ... a water barrel maybe ....>

Goldlfish will eat the eggs, so unless you have a good size pond or a lot of plant cover, the chances of frys surviving are slim. But since you can't take the eggs out & rear the frys separately, you may as well leave things alone & see what happens. You may be happily surprised at the end of the season.
