Fluval Spec V vs. Marineland Biowheel

Like the title says, which one is better, the Fluval Spec V or the Marineland Biowheel 10 gallon? I know one is bigger than the other and cheaper, but is the expense worth it? I am trying to figure out what tank to get for my friend for his birthday and I know he wants to start a fish tank. So my question really is, which one is good for a beginner and better for its price.

I researched and see that fluval is better but my biowheel is working fine and I have sand biowheel is cheaper but I never heard of problems with the other after research... They are both cheaper through amazon

Ok thanks. I have decide with the fluval as it looks sleeker and it seems to be more reliable.
