I've done research on fragging but my zoas/polyps are connected to a piece if LR that is right around 7-8 pounds. Is it safe to take them off while they're in the tank. My uncle wants a few to put in his tank as he has a newer tank and doesn't have a lot of stuff yet

I'd take it out f the tank and use gloves and eye protection to frag it.

It's really hard to get out I the tank so could I use a box cutting knife and cut just below the stem of the coral so toxins aren't released?

Shoot maybe I'll just cut them with some rock still attached and glue them to a small piece of base rock
