My longnosed hawkfish just died. The water quality all checked ok. It was in a QT w/ copper for the last two weeks with a couple clowns and a royal gramma for the treatment of ich. The copper levels if anything were low. Any ideas on what may have happened?

He seemed fine before I moved them all out of the main tank. They had been in the QT for two weeks and then he up and died. He was fine the night before and in the afternoon. At night then I found it on his side. Done.

the QT was a 10g. I didn't do any tests on it. I guess I didn't think the water would go bad in two weeks. I didn't over feed and did small water changes. I had a sponge filter, an airstone and about 3lbs of LR. Oh well, it's all over with. All I can do is try again. I'll do better.

I have one coral beauty in a quarantine tank with copper and I check the water daily because the levels (especially ammonia) are constantly up and down. You should keep checking it if the rest of your fish are still in the QT tank.
