help, brown algae taking over

hello, my tank is having a brown algae bloom ,had my water tested at my local salt fish store . water tested good. I have about 200 lbs of live sand and 125 lbs of live rock in my 110. i have noticed the sand turning light brown lately . I do have a submersible uv sterilizer in the tank.and a protein skimmer running .lighting system is 2 odyssea 4 bulb 2 12k daylight and 2 blue actinic that are on about 6hrs aday. . any suggestions of how to cure this . i would send picts but i am new to this fourm stuff. thanks

How old is your tank? If it's new it is perfectly normal and will go away on it's own most likely.

If it's slimy then it's most likely cyanobacteria, if it's kind of like a rusty dust, then it's just diatoms which are harmless and will go away within a few weeks/months.
