Help! I think i have brown alge in tank.

Flow won't affect diatoms but reduction of light will. Also if your tap water has alot of silicates in it doing alot of WC's can just add more silicates into the tank for the diatoms to use. Your best lowering your lights to 6 hours until the diatoms run their course and do your one weekly WC.
