Help with fishless cycle

I think you need to wait it out. It takes a while for the nitrite-to-nitrate conversion to complete. Continue to dose the ammonia 1-2 ppm when it gets to zero.
As for the water changes, I am not sure that there is a true correlation between high nitrite and a stalled cycle. I think it is more of volume; higher levels of nitrite take longer to process. The fact that you are seeing nitrates means that the conversion is on its way but there is an insufficient population of bacteria to process all of it.
Pretty cool that you diluted the water and multiplied the value accordingly to get the correct result.
 
I will definitely wait to do a water change since doing so many was getting me no where. Thank you for the reply I really hope I get somewhere soon and i only diluted because I saw someone else do it so I figured it would be a good way to see how many n itrites I truly had.
