How do u add peat moss to a tank?

Do I just sprinkle it in lime food or do I get a empty filter bag and put it in one of my slots in my filter. I have the penguin biowheel filter withe the extra compartment for a filter pad.

I'd put it in the filter via a media / filter bag.

What type of peat do you use? Any bag from the garden centre or does it have to be specific type, such as organic so it doesnt have any fertilizer/chemicals in it?

Filter it goes.

I would use the ones that don't have anything in it, or just straight up peat moss. Then you can boil it down.
