How much poop is too much?

I did a PWC this weekend, and was appalled at how much poop and other solids were in there. I have 4 guppies, 2 bloodfins and a cory in my 10gal. After I did my usual housekeeping, vacuumed the gravel, etc all was fine..but YUCK. I've cut back on feeding. Water temps and levels look good. I just don't remember that much crud in there. What's up?

Do you clean your tank once a month? I clean my 29 gallon guppy tank every other week. My 47 gallon I clean every week, as there are more fish in the tank.

ever think of introducing a clean-up crew? snails or some shrimp?

Oddly enough, a snail just made an appearance, but less than a week ago. He probably hasn't had time to do much. I probably clean the tank weekly. You can't see the solids unless I stir things around-a plant fell over, and when I replaced it...poop city.

ahhh another hitchhiker story of a snail??? wow.. i just posted mine yesterday and all of a sudden 5 other posts go up about snails! LOL too funny...

i would consider a larger clean-up crew...
