How much sand would I need....

So I'm setting up a 72 gallon tank for my Goldie's and I'd like to do a sand bottom. Suggestions on how much sand I would need to purchase would greatly help me!! Their current tank has no sand so I'm starting with nothing. I can't wait to get them in there. Also any tips in regards to setting the sand up would be great!

For my 75g I used 100lbs of pool filter sand. Was super easy and quick to clean

My 100g has a 18"x60" footprint. 3 bags of play sand gave me a 2" depth

Thanks for all your info, I looked online and my Home Depot has a 100lb bag of Silica Sand for like 9.00 so I'm going to try that out. I think that will work out! Tomorrow should be fun!
