My Nano-Cube has 3 foam "screen" filters that I would like to clean. No nitrite spikes or anything, just preventative maintenance. I would order spares, but they are overpriced and I'd rather spend my $$$ on frags:D How do you guys clean foam filters? I rinsed them once in tap water and let them dry, then started to worry about chlorine and other contaminents that might have been left behind. Thanks.

If you let it air dry the chlorine will be gone. Only if still wet is their a chance of chlorine getting in there.

I think the best way to clean a sponge is to carefully put it in the trash can.

I agree with Mike. Rinse really well and let air dry. With sponges in your system you will need to do this every few days to keep up with them.

That will work but when I was talking about air dry I was talking about getting rid of the chlorine.
