How to keep angel fish from breeding?

The last time i had angels they mated like rabbits. For my next tank i dont want to have them mate because it will be a community tank. If two start getting territorial i dont want them killing off others. I was thinking maybe turning the heat down to low 70's.

If you have multiple angels they will breed but if you only keep 1 you don't have that problem. Turning the heat that low on a tropical tank will not only shorten the angels life span, it could make them ill and you could lose them. You can't prevent spawning. I keep 12 breeding angels in a 220g community tank and I've never had them kill anything. In fact in over 30 years the only problem I've ever had when spawning in a community tank is when the tank is too small or it doen't have enough plants/decorations.
