Yesterday I noticed this whitish clear stuff on my Java moss. I can't see it anywhere else, but then again it's so small I can barely see it on the moss. I looked up Hydra and all types of algae and fungus but I can't find a match anywhere. Can anyone help me figure out what it is and determine if it's harmful to my newborn RCS?

It's hard to see in the pics but it's the standing up white fuzz (?) on a strand of moss

Looks like some type of fungus. It's not harmful and shrimp will even eat it. I have some dead Xmas moss and I threw it in my shrimp tank. They love it

It's an extreme close up of newer growth that I plucked off for the picture. See that dark ball in the middle picture? That's my fingertip.

Ph - 7.5
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 10 - 20
GH 6
KH 4

Here's where I plucked it from...

Yep. Just fungus. I have had the same thing in the past, but only ever on Java moss. I would manually clear it away for awhile, and eventually it all just never came back anymore.

No it will clear up on its own. You if it grows on anything else you can scrub it off. Personally I just leave it in my tanks.

I stand corrected. I've never seen java that close up, so pardon me. At that close it looked like something else.

I've never had that fungus before, but then again my cherries keep my moss spotless.

I should have stated the level of zoom, Darkseid. Wasnt thinking that far ahead cuz I waSS worried about my tiny RCS. They seem fine and more are on the way. (sigh of relief)
