Yes. LOL pet stores inflate the prices way too much.

My sister actually works at a mom n pop pet store, and this is a source of great agitation for them. The companies sell their stuff to them at these inflated prices. The price you see are often only marginally marked up off the stock price for some profit. Because they can't compete with the lower costs of online stores, they're losing more and more business.

Pet stores are always overpriced. My local petland has 300% mark up on almost all his stuff.

Don't skimp when buying a heater, Eheim Jagers are the way to go. I have the same one my dad used over 15 years ago.
