I have 4 x 80 T5 setup with individual reflectors.

Would that be enough light to grow some SPS? Was thinking of a birdsnest and placing it high up, like 12" from the tank's top

Sounds fine to me, birdnest if I remember right is a lower-light SPS

Probably not on the sandbed, higher up definitely. Just you won't have to have it at the very top of the rocks
