I noticed this "polyp" looking thing on the base of my birdsnest and not entirely sure what it is. I think it's a nem but I'm no expert so would like some input please.

Looks like you might have some bubble algae in the background. But +1 on the paly or zoa.

Thanks guys. FYI it's not bubble algae I'm battling red hair algae and red slime with bubbles trapped under it.

Let me know how it goes with the algae. Been battling red slime and green and red hair algae for 3 weeks now. Nothing is working.

On my very first Marine tank I had some problems with hair algae, and went and picked up some nice golfball sized turbo snails, and before I knew it, the hair algae was gone, and they kept it down and out from there on. Seems the turbos really like to munch on some HA. Not sure on the red HA tho
