Is this betta male of female

Juvenile Betta marked as female I have my doubts... It is my roomates new one since her other died of age



It does have a white spot in back like females should

From that pic, unfortunately, I doubt anyone could say. Is it supposed to be a long fin or one of the shorter finned ones ? You need a good, sharp focused full side on shot.
