What about other things like PH , nitrate? Also did he look ok and tank was cycled?

Has he been getting bullied? How long have you had him? Is he eating? EBJD's are very susceptible to parasites, have you treated him with metro/praziquantel?

Just go to the lfs a show them a pic and they should have some meds that should help, just make sure you do it before its too late!
