Java Fern Question(s)

So I went out earlier this week and bought the topfin java fern from petsmart. I got 2 plants. One had 6 leaves (now 5, i broke one off but it still has roots and is in tank), and the other had 3 mature leaves and at the time 1 tiny leaf growing underneath a larger leaf. I now have 3 tiny leafs from the same area (one I just noticed today).

My question is will these tiny leafs grow if they are not given the right conditions? Am I actually having a tiny bit of success at this live plant thing?

My Java Fern will grow even free-floating so it should be fine, just keep doing water changes weekly, and I do give mine a little bit of ferts.

Im still cycling tank so water changes are coming at different times depending on levels.
