This is the first tank I have every grown Java Fern Windelov in. I've left it alone and it has grown into a mass of about 6 inches tall and about the same across with new bottom growth continuing to emerge. Question is, now that the plant is getting fairly good sized I was wondering if I can safely cut the ariel roots off. They detract from the look of the plant in general IMO. And this plant is in an out cropping in the front of the tank. I don't see that it should be a problem but wondering what anyone else thinks.

I don't see why you couldn't. I'd expect a little die off though. Why I would trim my regular Java Fern I would always see some leaves not make it through.
