Aquarium Advice Activist
Hi there this is my first plea for advise. I have kept fish for 3 years and have had my keyhole cichlid for about a year ( I am quite sure he is male). I have recently noticed 4 exactly symmetrical holes in his head( 2 above each eye). My first thought was hole in the head disease, which I know is fairly common in large cichlids but never heard of it in dwarfs. Anyone who knows about these fish please post, just want to know if I need to treat it or if it is normal in adults. By the way I do a 25 % water change every week and test my water 1 to 2 times per week I have never had any trouble with water conditions since I moved my fish to their new 55 gal tank last September( tank was cycled before any fish were added).
