Kissing Gourami - Chapped lips?

I have 3 Kissing Gouramis in one of my 55 gallon takes with 4 Cory Cats and 2 Clown Loaches.

The kissing fish are 4 - 5 inches and 1 of them appears like he / she has chapped lips. The water parameters are good. No nitrites, 7.6PH, 0 Ammonia and ~40 nitrates.

None of the other fish are having any issues, everyone looks happy and healthy. He / she is eating and swimming around, just curious as to what this is an if I need to do anything.

40 nitrates is WAY too high. Please do a 50% water change. Then retest again. Please post all numbers. Thank you

40pm isn't ideal but I wouldn't say waaaaay to high..... A water change probably wouldn't hurt though.

Yeah, I asked another friend who does this for a living, 40PPM is not ideal, but not crazy high. But everyone has their opinion, which I respect .
