Koi is keeping his mouth above water.

I have a koi and he is like keeping his both above the water like I am feeding him or something. Has anyone else seen something like this .

Firstly. Is it in a pond or aquarium?
Also need to know parameters of the nitrogen cycle and how well oxygenated the water is.

Sounds like you may be having some sort of ammonia spike what are your params?

The fact that no nitrates are showing tells me that you may not be completely cycled. I'd do a 70% pwc for starters. Whats your ammonia read? What kind of filtration do you have?

I completely agree. Kois are messy and waste producing machines. You should have some readable level of nitrates in a cycled tank with koi. There are plenty of good articles on here about cycling with fish. Click the Articles link at the top to find them.
