Hi guys and thanks for your opinions.

I have metal halide lighting for corals - tank was set up wrong. I have an 7 foot long by 3.5 foot high and 4 feet wide tank.

What is the least expensive lighting to run for that system, that you know of. I'm trying to offset my large electricity bill. Not talking about set up, but cost of running it after set up....

Thanks for your help.

Just normal out put lights for fish only would work (some one here and I am sorry I do not know whom to give credit to on this but it is an awesome Idea !!)
Take a shop light paint it black(outside I assume) and hang it over your tank from your ceiling . You would not need to run it as long as you will not have corals .. You can run it on key times where you will be home to view it .. via a timer .. :D

I agree with Sadie that just regular flourecent lighting will work for fish only tank.
