Lighting question...

I think that would produce too much heat IMO...

I have 100watts of lighting 12000k and I barely have enough for low light corals.

Then again im a n00b lol...
 
what size tank do you have, and what lighting do you currently have over it?

I'm not really looking for new lights, I just thought it would be a nice addition to what I have now (which you can see in my "My Info" button).

Yeah, I forgot about the heat issue. I wonder how hot they get...
 
I dont know if heat would be an issue with this light. Have you guys checked out the bulb that this uses? It looks like one of those pc bulbs that converts to a standard light bulb socket on the website. The problem is just how much light it actually throws out. Granted it says it produces 500 watts of light, but sometimes with those type of lights they overstate it a bit. Maybe if being use to suppliment that main lights would work or use it for a fuge light if you have one.
