I bought aqua-glo lights for my 55 gallon aquarium. They are rated 18000k and 15 watts each. Would that work for live rock???

The only thing you would need better lighting for with live rock would be to start to grow coralline algea. Coralline requires decent light and calcium and I don't think 30watts would be enough light for coralline growth.

Ok I guess for doing just fish and live rock that would work! Thanks for the words of wisdom.

Yup, for a FOWLR set-up that would be fine. Lighting at that point is purely aesthetic.
Best of luck and have fun with it! :)
