lights for 125

im gonna have a fish only tank so i was planing on going with just some 4 foot shop lights from home depot and putting some 50/50 florescent bulbs. what im wondering is and i hope this isnt a stupid question but, i dont see any ballast with these lights. will they heat up my tank? are the ballast just built right in? has anyone used shop lights before and if so what were your experiences with them?

The shop lights have the ballast build right into the housing so you don't need to do or add anything to them, just plug them in and away you go.

IMO, even though its a FO thank, i think I would want more than NO lighitng. The fish have some spectacular colors if they're under the right lighting. I think I would use NO 10k and at least one or two PC actinics to really bring out the colors of the fish. but, thats just how I like to see them

ill look into that. i do want the fish to look and act healthy. thank you
