Live Sand

Hi a friend who has just shut down there tank has given me about 8 kg of live sand is there anyway I can store it and keep it live until I get a bigger tank.

Any advice would be appreciated

How long are we talking till you get the new tank?

Probably about 4 weeks

I would put it in a 5 gallon bucket with SW and put a small PH in it to keep the water circulating. Just keep adding FW for top offs to your bucket till the new tank comes in.

Just another quick question
would you put a heater in the bucket

If it gets real cold where you are then maybe. Are you faving low temps already?

Yes in the UK its bloody freezing
