I am aiming to keep it on the low to mid salinity level.

Am I the only one who thinks that 6.5 is fine if it's stable? I've had a tank at 6.5 for a year and a half and it actually deals with ammonia better than the other. Unsure why it's a touch lower all the time it just is.

My ph runs alittle lower as well but I am use to keeping angelfish and they do great in alittle more acidic conditions. My established tank has been running for going on 7 years and my ph has been steady between 6.8-7. My fish have been thriving so I haven't worried too much about it. My biggest concern was for the puffer as I am new to brackish and wasn't sure about their specific needs in terms of parameters. He is thriving in the established tank now as well so we will see as he transitions into his new home:) but no, I agree that a slightly lower ph is ok as long as it stays stable:)
