lymphocystis or an attack?

I got home from work and my clown fish looks like it's gills are swollen or looks to be breathing really fast. Also it's not closing it's mouth. I can't get a good picture



I have 10 different sorts of snails, 1 green emerald crab, 5 blue hermits, 5 red hermits, 5 scarlet hermits(the lfs told me I need all these) , and another clown in the tank.

Is it possible that one of the hermits or the emerald took a chunk out of the bottom lip?

What are your water parameters? Breathing fast can be a sign of high ammonia. Check it ASAP, and do a water change if ammonia is present...

I tested it yesterday it was zero. The other clown is not breathing heavy

They were in the same tank at the lfs for three months before I purchased them and introduced them at the same time. Should I QT the injured one?

It doesn't matter, it's an entirely new environment...

But the clown picking on the other one is just a possibility anyways.

You could QT him if you have a cycled QT, but it may cause additional stress.
