Matten filter flow rate

Hi, I have a matten filter in a 10 gallon tank. The size of the filter that is about 15 by 12 inches (it sits in the middle "U" shaped.) And it's 30 or 40ppi It's a planted aquarium.

I'm running a 53*GPH*submersible pump like a powerhead. (splitting off into two risers) instead of using a air pump.


I just want to know if this is enough suction? Is it adequate, Overkill or just right?

Anything that moves the water through the filter is good. You want as much flow as possible without throwing the fish around in the tank. I would think 53 GPH flow in a 10 gallon should be adequate..

Thanks I actually found a larger pump lying around . It's working I need to dial it back q bit
