medication for fin and tail rot?

I have a black skirt tetra showing tail rot. What kind of medicine am I supposed to use? My lfs has several different ones marked for fin and tail rot- furan-2, triple sulfa, tetracycline, maracyn and maracyn 2, and "fungus cure" so confused!

I tried melafix on 2GBR's that I QT'd for fin rot.

I didn't really feel it helped at all!! Needless to say the GBR's died during QT.

Levels were perfect as the QT filter came from my 50g.

So I wouldn't recommend melafix.

Honestly the best cure for fin rot is clean water, since the most common cause of fin rot is poor water quality. I recommend daily 50% water changes.
