METHYLENE BLUE does anyone have any idea's how i can remove this stuff from some ornaments
the guy i had the aquarium off obviously used it while all the decor was in tanks
so i've got a bagfull of blue ornaments
i would like to use some of them but it seems they will just leak the colour back into aquarium
i was thinking of bleaching and rinsing them real good will this be sufficient
to rid them of this
i dont no how anybody can use it
they might as well throw ink in there aquarium
should i bleach or just throw the stuff in the trash can

a 10:1 bleach solution would be a good place to start... soak them in there for a few, rinse several times, then soak them overnight in a bucket of water with 5 times the amount of dechlor needed

Actually methylene blue won't come out with bleach, esp. on porous surfaces.

We spill methylene blue on the OR floor all the time <well, not all the time! :) >, and the stain will not come out, even with industrial doses of bleach. Basically, we have to get a new floor every few years. ..... <The hosp. admin finally got smart & got us a blue floor last year ... we'll see how long that lasts ..... we also have brown iodine that permanently stains! :) >

Anyway, there is no harm in trying bleach, it might lighten the blue a bit.
