Has anyone here ever put these kind of lights under black sand substrate? I was thinking this might look freaky cool if the light came up from the bottom. But I don't want to spend the money if it won't look good.

I don't have any moonlight ones but i have multi colored ones that change or blink slowly and i really like them plus they give the fish a little subdued light when i turn off the tank light. I have them in 2 of my tanks! My husband calls it the fish disco lights lol!

My local fish store has these in various lengths, I was thinking of lights that weren't on a bubble wand. They have the 18" version for $36.

Yeah mine are on a bubble strip, about 28 inches I believe, now all I need is the disco ball! Lol! You think they make such a thing? Jk!

I'd like to get moonlight too, but I'm wondering if the submersible ones would be too bright for the fish? Wouldn't it blind them? IDK, maybe not. LOL
