Hey everyone,

I have a 12g tank laying around that my wife used for a school pet. When trying to find a class pet we came across mudskippers and they are stuck in my head.

Does anyone have experience with them? How to set up the tank? What materials am I going to need? Substrate? Heater? Type of filter ( I have an in tank waterfall kind and sponge filter with attached arm) What they eat and how often?

I believe the lfs has the smaller ones that only get about 2 inches long.

Any advice will be great!

There are a few good older threads on this topic. Just use the "search this forum" for "mudskipper"

As for a class pet, the consensus seems to be that they are cool looking but don't do much.

They look good. Making sure you have good filtration.

I went back and they were not out as high as they were before. At least another inch up. He's just stuck on there.

The first time I saw them I wondered if the could climb out of the tank. They have suction cups on them I swear.
