Muppie fry Molly cross Guppies

I have a pink tuxedo guppy and a sailfin white molly and they had half black and white fry people say they will be infertile and some people say they cant even bred while i have accomplished them being born now i need to just make them fertile. But i want to know if anyone else has had any success with breeding muppies?

Are you sure they're a cross? You're sure that the female may not have used a sperm packet of a former mating? Then the fry are just mollies.

Yes, guppies and mollies can crossbreed. But again, if she's used a stored sperm packet of a former mating with a molly than it's not a cross.
The dark backside of the fry does not immediately imply that the guppy must be one of the biological parents. If the molly has come from a line where also black or partially black ancestors have occurred, then the phenotype of the fry is also explainable.

when i got her she was the only one in the tank and she wasnt pregnant she only got pregnant once i got her and put her with the guppie

So you did take this girl away 2 weeks after being born?
(scratch that, if there was a ripe male in there she still could...)
That is the problem, she doesn't have to be pregnant to be holding sperm from another male. She wil get pregnant when she feels like it...

It is not like it can't be done.
Oh it can, but there are so many different things that could a happen.

Most ovoviviparous livebearer females such as mollies can store sperm packets for over a year and they're still be able to use them. The female itself decides wether she's open one or more of her folds of the fallopian tube (uterine tube) and release 1 or more sperm packets to fertilize her egss.
With a long period of absence of a male, the female is still able to become pregnant if she's got stored sperm packets.

Even if another male specimen is chasing her and sticking his gonopodium forward, that doesn't mean that an actual mating has taken place. The female itself will decided wether she allows a male to mate with her or not.


But I would let the fry just grow up and watch how they'll develop.

Yea well i see what you guys mean i will monitor her and the guppy i may even do put some more females mollies and male guppies in there and just wait until i start seeing some crossbreeds
