Make sure you turn off your co2 the day you add fish. They arent used to the co2 and dont have the hemoglobin buildup to deal with it. Co2 acclimation is much slower than solute acclimation.

I say this because I almost gassed some harlequin rasboras and cardinals this weekend by dropping them into a co2 rich environment, after drip acclimating them first.

oh thank you for the heads up I didnt know this.

Also I decided not to use RO/DI water so I ordered a Pair of Rams that Ill be getting tomorrow.

Got my first pair of rams today, turns out the male is a long finned German blue ram, I am quite happy about that (I ordered them from my LFS) also got 9 Cardinals 1 died during shipment.

thanks, They are doing well but still havent regained all their color but them seem to be getting happier and better yet they are sticking close to eachother.

Rams and Cardinals are doing great, The cardinals are taking a while to warm up but are getting there they just kinda hand out in the same spots all the time and dont move much. The Male Long fin ram comes to the front of the tank when I approach already but the female is still very shy. Tomorrow the rest of my plants come and Ill be treating them for duckweed, Snails, and all the other nasty things that can be on them before putting them in my tank. Ill be giving them a Potassium dip. I hope they are in good shape at least and I dont get a bunch of tiny sickly plants.

Heres some pictures of my tank fully planted, Now for it just to grow in. the sponge filter is just seeding so it will be out soon haha

Lookin' good. Diggin' the driftwood. Swods look cool, but IME they are major nutrient hogs.

its ok, I use dry ferts to dose so it doesnt cost me much. I am a bit worried because my red flame sword has white hairs all over it dont really know what that could be.

Added a rare cichlid called Nanochromis dimidiatus it has no common name, and is related to Kribs. The fish hasnt been in the aquarium trade for the past 30+ years. I am pumped to start breeding them so that I can get some of the fish into the market because they are amazing looking fish. Ill post Pictures soon as I can...They dont like the red light on the camara so they hide as soon as they see it, spent 20 mins today trying to get one with no luck. Anyways the male is dark in the middle of his body fading to red (Iv been told he will turn all red as he gets adjusted in the tank). The female is dark in the center fading to a Green/Yellow she will become all green and yellow. They have Blue on their lower jaw and behind their gills. I will be doing what ever it takes to breed these fish. The pair are wild caught and came straight from Africa, Im hoping to be able to supply them to my LFS and get them in the community so less fish have to be pulled from their natural habbitat.

Some of my new additions to my tank.

thank you both, In a few weeks ill have my Ro/Di water running into a 55gallon barrel to get my PH is all my tanks down because the new fish im breeding of course require soft water as well so I have a 75,49,29,10 that all need to have soft water. So i figured id need a big barrel to have the ro/di system on with a float valve.
