My filter

I have recently set my tank up after a couple of months due to it leaking and resealing and work I ain't had the time to set it back up, so I have spent hours cleaning sand making it all look very pretty and I turned my filter on and load of stuff have flew out and the water is cloudy could this be the cause of my tank being cloud and would this help towards the cycling of it?

If you just started it up it's just detritus, it will settle down within a day or so.
If the tank was dry for any amount of time there is no remaining bacteria, so this won't really impact the cycle positively or negatively.
