Okay, i looked it up and it's a green tiger barb. They are a captive bred variety. You have them like yours and then there are others which are completely green.

Good find!

Jeez, that's a big carp! 8O

I've recently purchased some tiger barbs. The lfs also had the green variety.
Does anyone know if the green ones are simply a color morph & will they school with the regular tiger barbs?

BTW, How much did that carp weigh? a buddy of mine fishes for carp as well. His biggest is 16 kgs (i've seen the picture, it's huge!). I don't know how much pound that is, but it sure was big.

I have green, albino, and "regular" tiger barbs, and they all school nicely. Also my largest regular tiger barb has a green tint to his black stripes. So I think what your seeing is completly normal.

cool, thanks guys.

btw the carp pictured is 20lb 2oz, my biggest so far is 25lb

tiger barbs are happy enough, was curious thats all. they a great fish too, was recommended by someone on here, so thanks.
