I bought some plants at a local store a few months ago and these small white snail things that were on the plants turned my tank into a complete mess. Most of my shrimp and otto fish died. I was not a very happy camper. These guys would sometimes lay jelly-like translucent eggs when there was food around, so I don't leave any food in the tank for more than an hour anymore.
I had about 8 RCS and 4 otto fish at the beginning. I don't know how to get rid of these guys without having to bleach my tank. I'm also not introducing anymore shrimp till this problem has been dealt with.
I'm also planing to swap out the gravel for sand at some point. How could I go about cleaning the plants and making sure that the snails are gone? What can I soak them in?
Would I have to get another tank set up if I wanted to pull out the gravel and redecorate my current tank? I just want my tank clean O___O.
Any tips are much appreciated.
