Hi guys I'm really new I was just wondering if you guys had any good ideas and amounts of fish for my new 10 gallon tank.

I was thinking 3 bronze Cory's 1 bristle nose 8 cardinal tetras and two dwarf neon gouramis

You can check out the volume of water suggested for each type fish here:

http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/aquarium-fish-supplies.cfm?c=830

And, there is a fish compatability chart here:

http://www.liveaquaria.com/PIC/article.cfm?aid=21

Here is a list of 10 gallon fish:

http://www.tfhmagazine.com/details/articles/top-10-for-the-10gallon-tank.htm
( I have a 10 gallon, too and I found the forum and the links after I messed up and had the wrong fish. Within 6 months, I should buy a 30 gallon b/c I bought corries before I found out it's 30 gallon minimum)

But suggested types is what I need Cory's are a must so they have to be compatible

Yes don't use inch per gallon, horribly out dated and dosent work. I think you'd be overstocked with what you want so how about 6 cardinals and a gourami. You would be too overcrowded otherwise.

If you want Cories in a 10g your only choice would be pygmy varieties as the article says. C habrosus are my favorite. They prefer sand and live plants.

A group of Celestial Pearl Danios would be great or Neons if you need something common.

Dwarf Gouramis will kill each other in a small tank. A single Honey Gourami is a better choice.

Are you asking if you could have different fish in an 18g ???

It depends on dimensions.

For a group of Bronze Cories, a 30g is a minimum. A 20g Long would work for a breeding tank, but no other fish. And not for long term.

Cories like big groups. 6 or more is best. Big females can get 3". Dwarf is a relative term.

So I guess I'll have to use dwarf Cory's but how many

6+. My tank consists of 8 neon tetras, some guppy fry I will soon be moving, some ghost shrimp and a Glo-Danio. I know, he kind of ruins the look but... He was my first fish, OK?! All the others died from new tank syndrome, this little trooper held on ?... Lol you could do some guppies or endlers, hardy and cool...

Cycling 45 Gallon. ???

Is 6 dwarf Cory's too much for a ten gallon or not

Eh, I haven't had much experience with them, but I wouldn't risk it. Like is said, use aqadvisor.com and check. I'm 80% sure if they do fit! you wouldn't be able to put much else in there!

What filter do you have, also what substrate are you planning on using? Cories need sand.

First off, gourami's should only be one per tank, especially that size as they can be aggressive with each other. Also +1 aqadvisor.com as they are a great tool.

I had 5 C habrosus with 7 CPDs. But my tank was heavily planted. Nano fish have less bioload.

At one point I had like 20 tiny fish in my 10g. BUT it was established and had perfect water and it's a jungle.

I don't recommend anyone stock that many.

But 5-6 habrosus should be fine. Plus a group of another clean Nano fish.
As long as there are plants and weekly PWCs. I added Indian Almond Leaves also to help condition the water and my Shrimp loved them.

Nano fish are more delicate. They aren't the best beginner fish. But if you set up the tank properly and don't rush, they should be fine.

Otherwise skip Cories till you can get at least a 20g Long.
