I highly recommend reading the two articles below on cycling ... It will save you a lot of potential heartaches and $$$$$$$.

The (almost) Complete Guide and FAQ to Fishless Cycling

A guide to aquarium accessories and fish care

The way I see it ... you have one of two ways going about it.

1. Deciding what stock you want. That determines the number of fish, their size, temperament and diet. That then determines the size of the tank, the decorations, substrate and filtration you'll need.

2. Deciding what tank size fits you best. That determines what stock you can have, decor and filtration.

As Terrance mentioned ... research ... research ... research. But whatever stock you go with .... CYCLING WILL BE CRITCAL!

When you feel you know what fish or what size tank ... let us know and we'll gladly help from there.

Good Luck!

Yes, please read those two links! Don't start this hobby without cycling a tank, that's of utmost importance! Research the fish you want, and start with a bigger tank, there is more room for error as a big problem won't be as much of one in a big tank, because there is much more water and room for change, while in a small tank it can easily get out of hand.

Good luck! :)

Hey welcome to AA read those links great info. Cycle your tank. Do research on potential fish you want. See if they are compatible with tank size tank mates and all the other aspects.
