Hi everyone,

So I am 99 per cent sure my neon tetra has some type of fungus.
It has white spots all over it and they are kind of cottony looking.. the white stuff raises from the surface of his scales. I can see it in his mouth aswell. How do i treat this? I am in AUS so im not sure if our products are the same as US? My water is all good, my cories actually just layed eggs, but they got eaten. Ill try and get a photo, though its hard as they swim really fast.

When my aquarium had a fungus problem, I added a fungus-remover-medication-thingy and some aquarium salt, and it was gone in two days.

Take it out and put it in a separate container with a dark, strong concentration of methylene blue.

As Matt said with MB.

QT straight away - even in a tub. Just in case it isn't.

Anything you can find with MB should do the trick. It's probably going to be a pre-mixed solution. I've never seen a powder form in stores in aus, only online and have never tried shipping into aus. Given how bad it sounds I'd just grab a lfs anti-fungal product asap.

Edit - pimafix and melafix will be unlikely to work on serious infections imo.
