What kind of fishes can I put in a 10 g tank?

I don't want to get something too big, I would like a small tank with 1 or 2 schooling fishes and maybe a few shrimps

You can't do one or two schooling fish. They need at least four to thrive. Try dwarf pea puffers.

For a ten gallon something like 6 neon tetras and a male betta would be ideal stocking. I have pea puffers in a 5 gallon tank and love them so they too would be a good option. With the pea puffers you definitely will not be able to have shrimp though. They'll hunt them all down.

Pea puffers are pretty expensive, so you may want to see if you really want them. They aren't pellet fed fish.
