My freind is getting a 20 gallon freshwater fishtank and is willing to spend around 200-230 dollars on the tank. The tank comes with gravel, rock, plants and the hood(top). The tank doesnt come with lights but that not a problem cause he already has the lights for it. How much money do u think it would cost him to get the tank set up,with fish, and what kind of fish, plz give suggestions.:D

Well it already sounds like you have the expensive stuff. Depends on the fish now. He could spend less than 20 bucks on enough fish for a 20 gallon. Just get a few guppies, mollies, and cories.

ok, thanks alot hopefully that will help me out alot.

I don't see a filter or heater there. These are relatively cheap parts but are important. Get a 100 watt heater and and HOB or other kind of filter.

Another important thing before any fish go in the tank, you need to cycle the tank. Fishless cycle is the best and most humane route.
