Hi, very new to the aquatic hobby. I have a small 12L tank (ye I know it's tiny!). It's not the size the counts it's all about the errrrr water quality :)

I have probably read every Fishless guide out there, learnt about all the bacteria needed to convert ammonia > nitrite > nitrate. Seems nitrosomonas is present but I have yet succeeded in seeding nitrobacker (sorry typing on an iphone and dont know the spellings!!) to convert nitrite to nitrate. Also ammonia is still high and Im 5 weeks in.

Making plenty of mistakes I have no doubt but that's why I'm cycling without fish!

Find the chemistry side fascinating and I also feel the happiness of the fish is very important so won't introduce any fish until the tank is ready.

Looking forward to talking to the people here

Cheers

Stuart
