1~What type of fish is afflicted? In addition, please describe what is wrong with the fish to the best of your ability (i.e. cotton like growth, bloated, etc.).
3 Panda Cories. All of them started curving their tails to the side and did not gain much weight even though they were eating fine until they seemed to get too weak to forage more.
I am worried because most of the time I search up curved tails, people lean towards fish TB. Should I be concerned? I saw no lesions on the skin and the only indicators is the wasting and curved tail (kind of like a U shaped fish by the time they die). I have 1 left and The tail curve is happening slightly.
2~What are your tank parameters (ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, temp, pH)? Please give exact values.
I unfortunately only have strips currently. I have been meaning to get a good master test kit but as of now the readings are fine and PH is between 6-7. The quarantine tank is established and cycled to many sure any new fish will have the best chance they can.
3~ How large is the tank? How long has the tank been set up?
The QT tank is 5 gallons
4~What type of filtration are you using? Please give the name and number
Marina Slim S10 at max 54gph
5~How many fish are in the tank? What kinds of fish are they and what are their current sizes?
Just the 3 Panda Cories in the QT
6~When is the last time you did a water change and vacuum the gravel? How often do you do this? How much water do you remove at a time?
I have been doing 25% every week until I noticed them acting oddly and started doing 50% every 5 days.
7~How long have you had the fish? If the fish is new, how did you acclimate it/them?
A couple weeks. I acclimated with open bag in the tank, dripping tank water into the bag periodically over an hour.
8~Have you added anything new to the tank--decor, new dechlorinator, new substrate, etc.?
I used Seachem Prime. It's the same as what I use for my main tank. Fluval Stratum is the substrate with some water wisteria. The substrate is fairly new.
9~What kind of food have you been feeding your fish, have you changed their diet recently?
Primarily brine shrimp pellets. It's the same I use for the Pandas in my main tank and i figure if they love it, the new guys will too. They devour the pellet quickly.
