I just got a whole bunch of drift wood on te river/sound I live next to and I want to put it in my tank. What is the best protocol to making sure it is safe for my tank??

Do some reaearch on what TYPE of wood it is. Make sure it is safe for an aquarium. THEN.

Soak it, boil it, soak it, boil it, soak it, boil it, soak it, boil it. haha

Just soak it for a week, changin water every day then boil it for a couple hours. Thats what I do.

Just make sure it's from hardwood trees ... and if your confident it's aquarium suitable DW, BOIL, BOIL and BOIL ... did I mention BOIL? Helps to sterilize and waterlog the wood. You can also soak for a week, then boil as above.
