New fish for friend?

My friend has a 29 gallon tank and he is going to get fish tomorrow.
Right now he has a female and male blue ram, and 1 male swordtail.

anything else? He already had three, and when he went on vacation, they all died.

Corys are schooling fish and should be kept in a minimum group of 4-5+. Did your friend figure out why they died? I've also heard some bad stories on this site about Dwarf Cichlids (like GBR's) becoming aggressive to Corys when they spawn. How about a nice peaceful school of fish like Harlequin Rasboras, Danios, a type of Tetra or Cherry Barbs? German Blue Rams tend to spend their time at the bottom of the tank, so filling in the other areas will visually look the most appealing IMO.
