I've purchased 6 new tanks and i wanted to know what substrate is best for fish. Especially sensitive types.

I've read that i can use play sand. Is that true? I know its a lot cheaper

Yes, just be sure to rinse it out thoroughly in a bucket till you can see through the water clearly before putting the sand in. If its a salt water tank, I don't recommend it because of its high phosphate content. Pool filter sand is better
